Chapter 139: 139
──────
Anyway, the photos had come out well.
I quickly wrote a post.
[Post Title: (Info) How to Clear Floor 43]
[Author: Blue Dot]
(Glass containers holding a Cyclops eye, a Troll Heart and blood, Ogre teeth and bone powder covered in flesh, shredded Wyvern wings, and so on.)
Not-a-newbie Hunter here...
Went to Floor 43 today.
Floor 43 was like some barren wasteland.
There were a few hills, but it was really desolate.
Ogres, Trolls, and things like that were wandering around here and there...
Nothing but monsters in a place that barren.
Isn't that terrifying?
So I just killed them all. T_T
Anyway, I cleared Floor 43 safely too.
And I'm writing another strategy guide post today!!!
First, when you start, look around. You'll see monsters wandering through the barren landscape.
You know scouting comes first in a strategy guide, right?
First, switch to attack helicopter mode, fly high into the sky, and thoroughly survey the area.
Then you'll see Trolls, Ogres, Cyclopes, and others wandering around nearby.
Just kill them all!
Activate your Omnidirectional Mobility Gear, quickly approach them, dodge their reaching hands, get behind them, and cut off their limbs. It'll be easier to subdue them.
Ah, I didn't kill them right away today because I was farming materials.
It was pretty manageable, though?
I wanted potion ingredients, and I heard fresher ones were better, so I harvested them alive this time.
I'll share some tips for collecting monster byproducts too.
First, Trolls.
You know Trolls have powerful regeneration, right?
Their hearts and blood are important byproducts, and extracting them alive gives you higher-quality materials.
So first, cut off their limbs to subdue them, secure them properly, cut open their chests, and pull out their hearts.
Ah, the heart might still twitch even after you take it out.
Don't panic. Just put it in a container.
It isn't defective. It's proof that it's fresh, so don't worry. Yep yep.
Collect the blood separately too.
Next, Ogres.
Their teeth and bones are materials used in all sorts of places.
So don't blow up an Ogre's head.
I habitually blew up a few heads myself.
I was really upset because their teeth went flying too...
Don't make that mistake, everyone.
Anyway, if possible, extracting their teeth while they're alive might make them a little fresher?
Their teeth are sturdy and don't come out easily, so secure their heads firmly and pull hard.
The Ogre might scream a lot.
Dentists are scary regardless of species, I guess?
Just stay calm and finish what you were doing.
Separate the bones from the flesh, grind them into powder, and store them. It's easier that way.
They're huge, so even one gives you quite a lot.
Next, Cyclopes.
You need to handle their eyes very, very carefully.
Usually, people say their eyes are their weak point and shoot there first.
Don't do that.
Their eyes are the most valuable material, so why would you ruin them?
Cut off their limbs to subdue them first, then carefully remove their eyes.
Wyverns are easy to handle.
Catch them, knock them down, then just slice off their wing membranes and take them. Very easy.
They don't have any parts that become higher quality when harvested alive, so it's fine to kill them normally.
I think I've left solid monster byproduct collection tips for each type.
I wrote it thoroughly, just like a strategy guide legend. Hehe.
Oh, and if you see refugees while wandering around, save them.
They were the people I saved on Floor 42, but they were being chased by Ogres again...
As befits this seriously angelic me, I just can't turn away from people in need. What a curse...
Phew... It can't be helped.
It's the duty of this Extreme Lunatic Hell Heaven Divine Prophet Angel AC-130 Gunship Hunter.
I have to save them...
Anyway, once you become the Angel of Death AC-130 and escort the refugees to the edge of the map, they'll thank you and an Angel Halo will pop into existence over your head.
Just ignore it...
It really is just a Cosmetic Effect. It doesn't do much.
Anyway, farm monster byproducts, save people, then take the Escape Portal in some corner.
(I can't reveal the exact location, sorry. I need to sell this information overseas. Hehe.)
Then you clear Floor 43!
See? Easy, right?
Anyway, today's earnings!
641 Wyverns, 279 Trolls, 129 Ogres, and 23 Cyclopes.
For a total of... 4,838,000 Points!!!
That comes to 48.38 billion won!
Plus loads of monster byproducts too, lehu!
If you carefully follow the strategy guide I posted, you can clear Floor 43 this easily too.
Please use it as a reference, everyone!
...
I firmly pressed the post button.
Then the comments came pouring in.
└You bastard, I was eating.
└Put up a warning label, you fucking maniac. I nearly had a heart attack the moment I saw it.
└What is that??? Why is that eyeball so huge???
└Maybe it's because I'm an emotionless psycho, but seeing this doesn't move me at all. If anything, it makes me laugh? This is nothing. I've watched hundreds, thousands of uncensored gore videos because I'm a psychopath, lol. I smile while watching them. Heh heh.
└Aaaaaaaaah!!!
└It's not even late-night Hunter Gallery. Why are people posting disgusting pictures at this hour...?
“?”
I tilted my head as I looked over the comments.
People's reactions were a little strange.
I was showing off valuable materials.
Why were they only saying they were disgusting?
So what if they were a little gross!
What mattered was the quality of the materials!
Look at the details on these dazzling organs!
Don't they look so full of life that they could start wriggling around any moment?
They had no eye for quality at all!
└Blue Dot: Is this your first time seeing monster byproduct photos on Hunter Gallery? Why are you all making such a fuss?
└└It is, you asshole. Who the hell posts monster byproducts on Hunter Gallery in the first place?
└└Isn't loot usually weapons or equipment monsters carry, or Magic Stones and stuff? Why did this bastard bring in monster corpses?
└└Blue Dot: Those are potion ingredients;;
└└Potion ingredients? Wait, don't tell me... You aren't making hair loss medicine or aphrodisiacs from chunks of meat like that, are you? Tell me no. You aren't, right? Right? Right? Right? Right?
└└Did Blue Dot break after taking the red pill?
└└SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!!!
└└They're monsters, not people.
└└Didn't this bastard post all that Mad Scientist bullshit before? Was that actually foreshadowing?
└It's not easy enduring those disgusting pictures.
└That huge eyeball looks like it's staring at me through the picture... It's scary. It feels like we're making eye contact...
└That sparkling eye is so charming.
└└?
“...”
I was a little hurt by the Hunter Gallery idiots dismissing the loot I had worked so hard to bring back as disgusting.
I only wanted to proudly show it off.
I expected reactions like, “Amazing,” “The materials look fresh,” or “I can see the effort you put in”...
But every reaction was just, “Gross,” or “Disgusting”...
I left a dejected comment.
└Blue Dot: You people are truly terrible. I went through all this trouble farming Full Recovery Potion ingredients to fix Hunter Kim Taeseok's arm. Yet you're dismissing my hard work just because it's gross? You insolent fools...
└└??? Those are Complete Recovery Potion ingredients? That?
└└No way. Even if it's Blue Dot, how could they make that? LOL.
└└Are you some alchemist from a cultivation novel or something?
└└Blue Dot: Yep yep. I'm the Extreme Lunatic Hell Alchemist and the Heaven-Defying Alchemist, so making a Complete Recovery Potion is easy for me.
└└What the hell is Blue Dot talking about now?
└Then is Hunter Kim Taeseok really getting his arm back?
└└Even for Blue Dot, who can make hair loss medicine, a Full Recovery Potion seems like too much...
└└But it's King Dot the Legend, so it's hard to confidently call it a lie LOL. Look at everything they've shown us so far.
└└If Taeseok hyung gets his arm back, I'll never criticize Blue Dot again. For real.
...
As I kept checking the comments, I suddenly spotted one.
└Management: Hello, Blue Dot. This is an administrator. We are always grateful for your contributions. However, we have received numerous reports regarding the attached images, so we are notifying you. You may keep the post, but please delete the images.
“...What?”
It was Management.
Not an impersonator, but a real administrator had commented on my post.
They were the person who had thanked me on behalf of the entire management team for stabilizing the power supply before.
But what?
They wanted me to take down the pictures?
“Outrageous!”
These ungrateful bastards!
I saved Hunter Gallery.
I earned electricity and saved their server!
If they had any conscience, they shouldn't be demanding that I remove my pictures!
└└Blue Dot: Dear Management, I saved the Hunter Gallery server, okay? And now you're telling me to delete my pictures? Is that right?
└└Management: Yes. Thanks to you, we are able to provide stable service. We are always grateful. However, regardless of that gratitude, please delete the images. Thank you for your understanding.
└└Blue Dot: Why should I delete the pictures?
└└Management: Under information and communications review regulations, the distribution of information containing severe violence, cruelty, or disgust is restricted. Please delete the images.
└└Blue Dot: Don't want to??
└└Management: We have received numerous reports, so we have no choice. Once again, please delete the images.
└└Blue Dot: Ah, I said no.
└└Management: We must comply with the relevant laws and regulations, so we have no choice. Thank you for your understanding.
└└Blue Dot: No.
Just as I was about to leave another comment, a notification appeared.
[You are a blocked user.]
[You are restricted from creating posts and comments due to a violation of operating policies.]
[Block will be lifted in: 6 hours.]
“...”
What was this?
It felt like I was seeing things.
Blink blink.
I closed my eyes, opened them, closed them, and opened them again.
Yet the message on the screen remained unchanged.
[You are a blocked user.]
[Block will be lifted in: 5 hours and 58 minutes.]
I.
Had been.
Blocked.
From Hunter Gallery!
“...They blocked me using the electricity I earned for them?! These ungrateful bastards!!!”
“That's why I told you not to post disgusting pictures. I clearly tried to stop you.”
“This is media oppression! A violation of human rights! You... Chinese bastards! Censoring, monitoring, suppressing, and deleting users' legitimate activities! We must free ourselves from internet censorship and surveillance! Free Tibet! Uyghur independence! Tiananmen! Falun Gong! Taiwan number one! Xi Jinping's citizen ID number is 110101195306153019!!!”
“He's gone crazy and is spraying anti-China talismans everywhere. But why is he doing that? Hunter Gallery is a Korean site.”
“Maybe he's throwing a fit because he feels like he's being censored online like in China.”
“Tank Man, help!!!”
What a damn Big Brother society.
To be blocked from Hunter Gallery, one of the few joys in my daily life...
It was sad, unfair, bitter, painful, regrettable, infuriating, unpleasant, and irritating...
I lowered my gaze and checked the comments.
└What? Blue Dot isn't leaving any more comments. Did he get blocked?
└The pictures are gone too. What a relief~
└Hello. This is FFF Daily. We would like to request an interview.
└Saving the server aside, those disgusting pictures crossed the line. Agreed? Yeah, agreed.
└└For real, LOL.
└What does saving the server have to do with ruining my appetite? I was eating!
└??? : Server.
└Management cut off that troll posting disgusting pictures, so rest easy!
└That Extreme Lunatic whatever Hunter isn't all that. One click of Management's mouse and Blue Dot gets taken out immediately, huh?
└Pwahahaha!
The Hunter Gallery idiots were happy that I had been blocked.
Those shameless bastards...
I saved the country, saved Hunter Gallery, saved the economy, saved national defense, saved everything, basically.
And this was their reaction?
“Just wait until the block is lifted in six hours, you wicked mortals. I'll make you regret this.”
“What are you planning now...?”
“After I fix Hunter Kim Taeseok's arm, I'll prove it, so those fools will realize their errors and repent!”
“?”
If I made a Full Recovery Potion and proved that I had fixed Hunter Kim Taeseok's arm...
Even those idiots would open their stubbornly closed eyes, realize their sins, and reflect!
I nodded.
“It's time for the Extreme Lunatic Hell Alchemist, the Elixir Refiner...! Daesik! Put some water on! I'm making an Elixir right now!”
-I don't have arms, though.
“You can't even put water on because you don't have arms? How useless.”
-I don't have a body at all, though.
Anyway, that was how it began.
Making the Complete Recovery Potion.
* * *
At the very moment Baek Jiho crawled into the underground workshop, Donald Torumph was at a military base in Nevada, United States.
“Ugh...! Disgusting!”
Donald Torumph sharply frowned.
He was looking at a tablet in his hand.
On its screen was a photograph and a post translated into English.
It was the post Baek Jiho had uploaded to Hunter Gallery.
The post was quite disgusting.
A huge, sparkling eyeball in a glass container.
An enormous heart submerged in blood.
Teeth and bones covered in chunks of flesh...
Torumph was reading a translation of Baek Jiho's post obtained by the intelligence agency.
He muttered as he looked at the tablet screen.
“Our great friend has rather poor taste in photographs. Why did he upload something so disgusting to the internet?”
“It appears he wanted to show off his loot.”
“He should have shown off his Points instead. Those are beautiful just by looking at the numbers.”
Simon Scott, the Minister of the Climber Management Department standing beside him, added.
“I am told he was suspended from activity for six hours because of that post.”
“Suspended? Huh...! That is truly, truly horrible... Being blocked... Jiho must be suffering greatly.”
Torumph put on a sympathetic expression.
He too had experienced being blocked on several social media platforms.
He knew well how painful it was.
He could empathize with Baek Jiho's pain.
He spoke quietly.
“I should comfort Jiho through my social media. He must be so heartbroken...”
“...It is only six hours.”
Scott's words did not reach Torumph's ears.
He had already pulled out his smartphone and was writing a social media post.
The minister let out a deep sigh.
After writing the post, Torumph looked back at the tablet screen.
The disgusting monster organs on it filled his vision.
He muttered quietly.
“Still, those really are disgusting pictures.”
Glance.
Torumph took his eyes off the tablet screen and looked ahead.
There was an observation window in front of him.
“...Well. Less disgusting than that, at least.”
Beyond the thick observation window was a sight resembling a hospital operating room.
However, it differed somewhat from an ordinary operating room.
Instead of a patient's operating table, there were sturdy metal restraints.
Besides scalpels and forceps, there were chainsaws and various chemical solutions.
And above all.
-Krrrk... Krrrk...
The creature on the restraints was a life-form with an appearance unlike a human's.
Green skin and long ears.
Scrawny limbs and exposed yellow teeth.
A small body about the size of an elementary school student.
It was a Goblin.
A low-level monster slaughtered countless times on the Tower's Lower Floors.
It was tightly restrained on the metal apparatus.
-Beep. Beep.
-Krrrk... Krrrkk... Krrrk!
The electronic sounds of measuring equipment and hoarse cries flowed through the observation room speakers.
Then, at that moment.
-We will begin specimen collection.
The researcher's hand began to move.
Slice. Slice. Crunch.
A sharp scalpel began cutting through the Goblin's skin.
-Kieeeeeek! Kieeeeeek! Kieeeeeek!!!
-Administer more anesthetic.
-The anesthetic isn't working. Its drug resistance is too high.
-It can't be helped. Continue as is.
-Kieeeeeeeeeek!!!
The Goblin twisted its entire body as it let out a shrill scream of pain.
The researchers began collecting samples and placing them in containers.
It was a biological experiment on a Goblin.
An extremely cruel sight.
But Torumph did not look away.
He had come here personally to see this.
“What has been confirmed?”
“Its physical structure matches that of Tower Goblins. We are also comparing it with the corpse samples we have obtained.”
“Will it survive?”
“Yes. It has remained alive since it was captured.”
The president of the United States.
The Minister of the Climber Management Department.
High-ranking government officials had come all the way to a military base just to see one Goblin.
Normally, that would have been unthinkable.
American Hunters slaughtered Goblins every day.
Corpses and byproducts.
They could obtain as many as they wanted.
But a living specimen.
That was another matter.
Until now, it had been impossible to bring a living monster outside the Tower.
They could bring out corpses or severed byproducts, but they could not capture a living one and take it outside.
It was an absolute rule set by the Tower.
Yet now.
A Goblin was alive and breathing at a military base on Earth.
The reason was simple.
“Tell me again how it was captured.”
“At a farm in Utah. The farmer discovered it attacking livestock and reported it.”
“Hmm...”
Torumph let out a low sound.
Scott picked up another file.
A broken fence, a livestock shed stained with blood.
And a green monster baring its teeth in the corner of a barn.
They were photographs taken at the scene.
“The person who reported it initially thought a wild animal had entered. After confirming it, they fled into the house. A recovery team then captured it alive.”
“What happened to the farmer?”
“They are unharmed. The site has been secured, and the surrounding area was searched. No additional specimens were found. Security measures have also been properly carried out.”
Torumph slowly nodded.
His gaze went beyond the observation window.
Just one Goblin.
A pitiful trash mob that any Hunter had faced before.
But it had not been found in the Tower.
It had been found at an ordinary American farm.
A place where regular people, not Hunters, lived.
Monsters had begun appearing there.
Torumph muttered quietly.
“A sign of the Great Cataclysm.”
America had been preparing for the Great Cataclysm for a long time.
But preparing for an approaching disaster and witnessing its signs directly before one's eyes were entirely different things.
Torumph's expression hardened.
“As long as we did not enter the Tower, we never had to face monsters. Until now.”
“...”
“Not anymore.”
Monsters that should have existed only within the Tower were gradually beginning to appear in reality.
The Great Cataclysm.
Its beginning was not far away.
