Thank you for reading my novel this far. When I first started writing it, I thought, Wow, this is going to be fucking fun! But I don't think the final result quite lived up to that...

My original idea was, Wouldn't it be great to mix a hero story, a mystery, a police story, and a misunderstanding story?!

But once I started writing, I found that mystery-style storytelling really isn't easy in a web novel. Yet if I took out the mystery elements, there'd be pushback because I'd set it up with that mystery vibe from the beginning...

I think I just tried something too difficult. That's entirely my fault. Sometimes I wonder if I should've just gone with a cheerful, chaotic misunderstanding story.

Still, trying to come up with fresh tricks stretched out the update schedule... I couldn't come up with ideas... and to make matters worse, various things happened that left me unable to write... It's sad. So sad.

To talk about something else, I'm relieved that I seem to have tied up most of the plot threads. I didn't set up that many to begin with, and the final chapter did feel like it was wrapped up in a hurry... but I just didn't have the motivation to write any more.

I swear every time that I'll write something with a really, really easy premise! Yet I always seem to choose these kinds of ideas. I guess I'm cursed.

Still, I think I made it this far thanks to all of you reading. Thanks to you, even though it ended a little early, I was able to make it to the end.

For my next work... I'll probably just write whatever I want for the Novelpia contest. Without thinking too deeply about it, I want to try writing something I'd want to read. I think overthinking things is what gave us something as ambiguous as The Police Do a Better Job Than Heroes.
