Chapter 164: Afterword on the Conclusion

──────

Hello, this is Sinnoa!

It's complete!

Thank you sincerely for staying with this story to the very end, a tale so unusual in so many ways that it's hard to know how to classify it!

When I visited the Munpia building at the end of July, I said, "[It'll probably run to 200 chapters, won't it!]" But once I actually started writing, it ended up concluding at the shorter-than-expected Chapter 163...

I'd written all the stories I wanted to write and shown all the scenes I wanted to show, so I decided this was the most fitting ending!

I did consider a plot where Sawada, the man whose name Kazuo was called only by Toono until the very end, Toono, and Grandpa San held hands and went off to hunt the king of North Korea.

The setting would have been 1940, when the king of North Korea sought asylum in the Soviet Union...!

It was a situation that felt like something out of a Park Chan-wook film, so I was tempted, but now that the tribulation of the Great Flood of the Gap-sul Year has been broken, I can't quite imagine the chain of events that would lead Grandpa San there...

Perhaps, as Grandpa San briefly mentioned in the story, the Kim family will diligently work as master dried-pollack makers at Gangwon's dried-pollack drying racks...

I prepared this story wanting to write something different from my previous works.

As a result, there were very, very, very, very many male characters.

As this is clearly a historical inaccuracy, I cannot help but apologize as an author...

As you all know, Baekdu Mountain hunters were originally an occupation exclusively held by women from the days of Gojoseon, and they possessed secret arts that allowed women to have children together. Furthermore, the interpretation that all officers during the military dictatorship era were women has also gained support as recent historical research has progressed.

I feel terribly sorry that I couldn't show you Han San-hui, a descendant of Baekdu Mountain hunters who regressed after being a seventy-four-year-old old woman, her younger sister Han Bada, her two mothers Han Man-seon and Ham Ssang-sim, Sawada, the sharp-eyed female military police officer with a chrysanthemum-shaped eyepatch, Myo San, a cat-eared girl who uses nya-speak and loves cigarettes, diverse beastfolk still existed on Earth in that era, and Your Excellency, with their petite build suited to sunglasses...

However, I have commissioned an illustration of Silver Fox, who would be the sole male character even in that worldline...! I will reveal it through an announcement as soon as it arrives...!

There were many parts I regretted while writing, but the one I regretted most was...!

First, the title...!

What on earth should I have called it... Was this really the best I could do... Oof...

The thing I regretted as much as the title was my writing speed.

For instance, the The Classic of Mountains and Seas arc. It would have been best if I could have released all eleven installments at once, but two double releases were the limit of my current writing muscles...!!

Still, the fact that I made it to Chapter 163 without taking a single day off, occasionally dropping consecutive releases, must be proof that my writing muscles are growing...!

I will continue to train without neglect and strive to cultivate the divine power of Yugong Moves Mountains within myself...!!

Lastly, I would like to offer my thanks to the works and authors I often thought of while writing this story!

Geom Miseong's [The 21st-Century Rejuvenation Chronicle] and [Game 4 Fantasy].

Fujita Kazuhiro's manga, including [Karakuri Circus].

[Berserk].

[Trickcal].

The universe's supreme hegemon of content, [Chiikawa].

[The Little World of Don Camillo]. In particular, the relationship between Grandpa Han San and Sawada drew much inspiration from Father Don Camillo and Peppone.

Lastly, Kim Wangsok's [The Beast and the Hunter].

I was truly delighted and grateful that someone mentioned it in the comments on Chapter 1...!

My home had the complete set from Volumes 1 through 10 when I was young, and I especially loved Hunter Park's stories. If Grandpa San's family had raised a dog, it surely would have been a Pungsan dog...

Now that the main story has been wrapped up, if any ideas come to me, I may post a few epilogue side stories as extras...!!

However, I do not know when that might be...

For the time being, I plan to celebrate the upcoming Chuseok and spend my time planning a new work!

That's all!

Thank you sincerely for reading <The Regressed Gangwon Hunter Makes a Fortune in 1933>!

Have a good day, and I hope you have a wonderful Hangawi!!

Sincerely,

Sinnoa.

Yugong Moves Mountains is a Korean expression for persevering through an impossible task, based on the tale of an old man determined to move mountains.
