3 years of WeTried!

2 hours agoThis announcement is a little late, but I have so much to say that I'll make it anyway. A while ago, we finished 3 years of WeTried! 3 years is not a long time for some, but for me, it's actually a really significant portion of my life. That's more than 10% of my life, spent completely on this one platform to make it what it is today. It's not a big deal for most of you, it's just a novel reading website, but for me it really is. We started with just one random novel which nobody read, dropped it on 3 different occasions (becasue again, nobody was reading it) and picked it back like the stubborn bastards we were, and then decided to get more people on board and expand. Somewhere down the line, I reached out to TV and had him continue A Regressor's Tale of Cultivation here. That's where we really started hitting it off with people coming to the site and discord and us truly growing. After that, I decided I wasn't happy with how the SSS-class Suicide Hunter novel was being treated and decided to redo it from scratch. A lot of people had issues with that, but eh, it worked out. We now have over 100 ongoing novels! This is by no means an easy thing to achieve and I want to congratulate the whole team for this to happen. It's just been 3 years but we've done fabulous novels like RToC, IRS, IPE, ORV and many more. I like to think there's not many groups who decide to completely redo novels from scratch instead of taking the easy way out and actually sticking with it. I also like to think not many groups implement feedback to the degree we do. Of course, we still have ways to go, like fixing that one arrows issue on comments, but we'll get there.I have much bigger things in mind for WeTried for what we'll achieve in the next 2 years, like expansion into other languages like French, Spanish, Portuguese, some SEA languages, etc. and expansion into other genres like Drama and Romance Fantasies instead of sticking with our safe Action & Martial Art novels. We've also been heavy at work with the webnovel contest. We've got a very popular author on the judge team (who's hopefully going to serialize his next work with us here as well), and we already have some artists on board for helping with collaterals like illustrations and covers for the winners.Huge thanks to @Sty as well for keeping this place functional completely without any compensation whatsoever, he's the goat Truly, thank you to each and every one of you for constantly reading and supporting this obsessed translator's endeavor, none of you have any incentive whatsoever to choose us instead of the thousand other websites around, so I truly do appreciate it. Here's to another 3 years! I don't want this announcement to only be me emo-dumping so here's a preview for the next website update: We've added the ability to listen to chapters instead of just reading them and a lot more options in the reader!
