Website Overhaul
Hello everyone, we have an exciting announcement today! We've gone ahead with a lot of requests, some yours, some mine, on the website and all these changes are live! Huge thanks to our dev team ( @Heaning @Restodecoca @silver ) for working hard on these and future updates! This update introduces a redesigned homepage, improved series discovery, better discussion features, and several visual and navigation enhancements.
Homepage
We've completely redesigned the entire homepage, removed some clutter and made things overall a lot cleaner. We've moved announcements to the bottom in case anyone is wondering about that part (and yes I'll try my best to use that feature). We've also updated the trendings section to be categorised as weekly/monthly/all-time instead of the previous daily/weekly/all-time because quite frankly daily was too less of a data bracket to be of any help. (monthly is needs some last minute fine tuning so it'll ship in the coming days)
Series and Chapters
We've fixed quite a lot of bugs on series pages, especially related to displaying of premium chapters. I know there's one change not everyone likes (which is removing the ability to collapse premium chapters), but we've compensated that with the feature to "continue reading" using a button on the series pages which will remember where you left off the series. Not to mention, there is already a bookmarks feature, but this is for users who don't want to login at all. We also have WORKING reader settings now with cleaner layouting as well. We've also massively improved the novels listings page with better search and genres (!!!). Now genres do need one of us to actually go and add them manually, so if you see any mis-inputs or something missing, feel free to put it in ┊・🌟feedback on the discord server.
Comments and Discussions
Users can now comment on and discuss announcements (a feature i am aware i need to use more, yes.) and notifications now correctly show which announcement a comment or interaction belongs to. We've completely removed traces of the old disqus comment system (there were some things left to clean up). These are minor changes but we have plans to make comments even better in the future.
Profile and Bookmarks
We've overall improved the profile / bookmarks pages and fixed some password resetting related bugs which a couple readers reported.
Discord releases
We've updated the releaser bot to ping once every 6 hours with a summary of releases happening in those 6 hours (yet to be tested so let's see how it goes ) and some more nice to have things overall, ill just list them as bullet points:
Updated the website favicon and logo assets.
The footer now uses the new logo too.
Added automatic logo inversion for better visibility in dark mode.
Updated the login page with the new footer logo.
Refined authentication pages, announcements, layouts, and global styling.
Simplified footer links.
Updated website assets and internal dependencies.
Improved overall consistency across desktop and mobile layouts.
Refined several interface components for a smoother browsing experience.
NOW, this is part of our ongoing efforts to actually take in feedback so please throw in more suggestions in ・☆・overhaul-suggestion and reported your feedbacks in ┊・🌟feedback (whether good or bad). I know not all of us like change, but improvements are something i think we all deserve, especially readers such as yourself. Head's up, we recruited more translators so you'll see a lot of new novels popping up here in the next 2 weeks!
