A: I think images that can be visualized are important. For example, at the end of the 10th cycle, the image of black curses being reversed to white blessings to liven up the dark mood with a clear image is important for writing good scenes.
Q: Things you thought were most important while writing in the xianxia genre, and things you think are the most fun about the genre?
A: In xianxia, the two most important things are ‘eastern fantasy mystique’ and ‘progression’. I thought incorporating constellations from East Asian astronomy into the cultivation system to enhance the mystique and showing the protagonist’s growth(both physical and mental) as every cycle passed were great motivations for writing in the xianxia genre.
Q: Things you have done to write well?
A: I think reading Reincarnated Swordmaster and delving deeply into the worldbuilding of a work as deep as I could helped. Additionally, I have finished the first part of a novel I really wanted to write on a different website. I think knowing what I want to write, and having finished what I wanted to write really help one improve one’s writing.
Q: How many extra chapters do you plan to write?
A: I think I will write at most 7(?) chapters. After the completion of the main story, there can be works that take place in the same world, but I don’t have plans for extra chapters…

A: Yep. The worldbuilding was completed 6 years ago.
Q: In ordinary xianxia, when one ascends from the mortal realm, it’s just a spiritual realm which is just a dimension with a different name, so the idea that Middle Realms were the corpses of True Immortals was very fascinating. What was the inspiration behind this?
A: In ‘A Will Eternal’, there was this giant, where I got inspired by how they had a world inside their body and people lived inside that world. In ‘The World After the Fall’ I was inspired by how the world was inside a giant tree. I thought a universe and a world being inside an individual being was fascinating.
Q: Now that we are nearing the end of the work, what was your favorite episode and the episode you regretted the most?
A: My favorites were 10th cycle, Seo Hweol’s End, and Star Genesis Supreme Deity enthronement. These 3 episodes are the ones where I repeated ‘IwanttowritewanttowritewantowritethisepisodewhendoIwhendoIwhendoIwriteit’ to myself every day while writing A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation, after all. The episodes that I regret the most are the disciples episode, Ancient Force Realm episode, Star Shattering Realm episode, and True Immortal Realm episode as a whole before the Wol Ryeong episode. I especially failed to encompass everything that I wanted to encompass in the True Immortal Realm episode because I returned to writing too quickly. That is something I especially regret.
Q: How do you plan out the worldbuilding of the novel?
A: How do I explain this? I just do. I just run a simulation using knowledge in my head. This is just… my characteristic or talent. It is not explainable.
Q: Will your later works be as high powered as RToC or beyond as well?
A: For later works, I want to write low power.
Q: Do you think your later works will be as long as RToC?
A: I wish to finish my later works within 500 chapters. After writing around 800… I think the novels that are judged to drag on are also amazing in their own way.
Q: Were you happy writing A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation?
A: I think I would only know when it is done.
Q: Jojo seasons in the order that you like?
A: 6>=7>5>=1>2>4>3. I did hear that most people find season 3 and 4 fun, but I personally thought they were loose outside of the final boss battle, so I preferred season 12567 where the unique sense of purpose dominated the entire work.
Q: What was the scene you found most inspiring while writing A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation?
A: My heart quivered the most while writing Entering Heavens Beyond the Path Formless Sword, 10th cycle, Mad Lord’s Entering Heaven, Yeon Wei’s death, Seo Hweol’s Death, the Great Mountain battle and Star Genesis Supreme Deity ascension, and Hope. These were also the scenes I most wanted to write.
Q: In A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation, there are a lot of religious and literary references. Have you studied them separately for the work?
A: Rather than for the work, I had a lot of knowledge about religions or mythology for this and that reason beforehand.
Q: What did you like the most when initially envisioning A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation?
A: Hong Fan’s identity.
Q: What is your favorite technique?
A: Splitting Emperor Splitting Heaven and Phenomena Extinguishing Mantra.
Q: Any scene that you wrote seriously that the readers thought were funny?
A: A bunch of people laughed at “Life is life”. Seo Eun-hyun wasn’t being stupid!

Q: Cultivation realm names and cultivation methods are all very detailed, so which did you decide first? Realm names first and then fit cultivation methods to those names?
A: Inevitably, yes. After all, I brought a lot of the realm names from existing works.

A: If you are talking about immortal cultivation in A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation, the essence of cultivation is being saved. Salvation from terrible fate, being saved from heart demons, enlightenment, or heart itself that pains you. Being ‘liberated’ is the most important essence of immortal cultivation.
Q: Where are the leftovers’ souls born? Split from the soul of the main body? A soul that received the fate of being born as a leftover in the Eastern Heaven Flower Field?
A: Leftovers are not from the reincarnation system, but a form of blastogenesis. An easy metaphor is the splitting of Origin Essence.
Q: Are the soul of the main body and the soul of the leftover treated separately in the Underworld’s judgement and reincarnation process? It would be odd to treat Yu Hao Te and Blood Yin as the same person, but it would also be odd to treat Seo Hweol and Seo Hweol’s leftover as the same person.
A: The being that sacrificed himself at the end was Seo Hweol himself. He confused himself as being a leftover because he used Tainted Soul Filling the Heavens while he himself was the main body instead of having a separate main body like usual. All leftovers can be treated as a different character from the original individual, and they are all judged individually.
Q: Like the case of Ja Eum, Seo Ran, and Seo Hye, for beings that are absorbed by the main body, are they judged together in the Underworld, or are they separated and judged individually?
A: Normally, they are separated and judged individually. But there are cases where they mutually want to be combined, and in that case they are judged together.

A: This is an unspoken agreement among True Immortals of Great Net Immortal or lower, but when they meet each others’ avatars in the Saha World, they pretend not to notice.

A: The three were Golden Shaking Bird, Myeong Woon, and Blood Yin.
Q: Can leftovers in Head Realm escape if they realize what beings they were in the past?
A: The moment they recognize who they were, it is impossible.
Q: Ratio of Mountains and Rivers cultivators (independent cultivators) in the cultivation world?
A: I think the ratio between independent cultivators and sect/clan cultivators would be 3:7.
Q: Do cultivators not learn how to use their body at all, and just cultivate?
A: In the case of Heaven Tribe, a large majority do not. Around 70%.

A: Concepts up to Three Talents existed before the Future King. After that (in the world of A Regressor’s Tale of Cultivation), the Future King created them.

A: The combat spines are in addition to the normal bones.

A: The mountains will probably change to stars. I suppose it would be very similar to the Star Vein Formation of Entering Nirvana stage.

A: The moment you are resurrected, it is difficult to completely recover one’s identity. The resurrection involves some level of mixing. On the other hand, changes in identity even happen when one interacts with other beings, so it is better to see it as ‘growth’ than change in identity.

A: Yep. But because of Underworld faction privilege, there is one or two more chances of resurrection.

A: If it’s someone like the Heavenly Punishment Supreme Deity, who has a foot in all of cultivation realms… Even under the assumption that the mortal’s insight was also trash, they can definitely raise them to Vestige Liberation Immortal in 20 million years.
Q: Before the Heavenly Punishment Supreme Deity, I don’t think anyone could overcome Heavenly Tribulation unless they had Wol Ryeong level talent. How the heck did they cultivate back then?
A: During those times, everyone studied Immortal Arts in advance very hard.

A: Most mortal races are slaves, and slaves are property, so Heaven and Earth races set up protection formations to manage them, which is why not too many died.
Q: How many Great Net Immortals in Mount Sumeru?
A: Currently around 300.
Q: How are Five Blessings Ritual Worship Scriptures made?
A: They are made by forcefully absorbing Five Blessing Axes into cultivators of Qi Building stage or lower, hypnotizing the cultivators who are suffering from excess authority and knowledge into writing down scripture containing the enlightenment of the Five Blessings Axes, and making the cultivators dispose of the forcefully absorbed Five Blessings Axes into the scripture they wrote. A: I am thinking around 100 thousand.
Q: When Seo Eun-hyun regresses, all the Governing Immortals are gone from the original timeline, so how do the True Immortals that become aware of that react?
A: This is a spoiler, but I will say it because it will be shown soon. When Governing Immortals are moved by regression, the worldflow is closed, and time stops flowing in that world. This is because the Heavenly Venerable of Time cannot affect other timelines due to the Radiance Mantra.
Q: Because of the Seven Stars Ritual, I think 28 stars would be visible wherever living beings live. Does this mean the stars in the sky will naturally arrange themselves, or are constellations that cannot be normally seen visible due to the Seven Heavenly Lords’ influence?
A: One finds the 28 stars that have the energy that fits the world they are in! Or a single star can have all 28 kinds of energy. In such ways, as long as the Northern Dipper Seven Heavenly Lords exist, the energy of Seven Stars Ritual is universal no matter what world you are in.
Q: What is the ratio of time flow between Earth and Mount Sumeru?
A: Whenever the Future King, the owner of all attraction force in Mount Sumeru, and the Enders clash in battle, time flow constantly changes.
Q: Is it impossible for the remaining thoughts, leftovers, reincarnations of True Immortals in the Head Realm like Hongsu Ryeong, Cheongmun Ryeong, Tuho Gang leader, etc to climb the path of cultivation and reach True Immortality again?
A: It is possible with the interference of miracles.
Q: Could a devilish True Immortal alleviate their sins by walking the path of repentant enlightenment or redistribute one’s cultivation after getting hit by Vast Cold’s Heaven Manifestation or repenting on their own and benefitting more of Mount Sumeru’s life than they hurt?
A: Underworld treats merit and sin separately. They do not cancel each other out.
Q: What is a Supreme Deity’s predestined fate if they rise or will rise to Heavenly Venerable or True Emperor?
A: It is a True Emperor that usually grants the predestined fate in the first place, so such things almost never happen.
Q: Do a lot of beings leave Radiance Hall as well? Excluding the Eight Immortals or outright spies like Purple Gold Heavenly Lord.
A: By proportion, not a lot, but at least a hundred.
Q: Could a really powerful germ cultivate the Earth Tribe way if you poured heaven and earth spiritual energy into it?
A: Yes. But you would need to take care of it carefully.
Q: Has a True Immortal ever seriously engaged in a Truman Show with a mortal? His parents are both the True Immortal, his wife is also the True Immortal, his children are the True Immortal, his friends are also the True Immortal… etc.
A: A lot of times. In fact, manipulating fate is no different from turning the lives of countless beings into a Truman Show. Of course, the specific case you bring up happens very often as well.

A: In the case of Life Supreme Deity, True Immortals will become able to use History Revision regardless of whether they are Heaven Immortal or Earth Immortal. Vestige Liberation Immortals and Entering Nirvana would also be able to use a little Revision. Q: Since the universe endlessly expands and the Astral Realm of Heavenly Domains are similar to a real life universe, does that mean Heavenly Domains and Mount Sumeru as a whole are slowly expanding into the Outer Sea? In that case, are the Gandharas expanding too? If somebody stops the End forever and let the Heavenly Domain expand until it reaches the boundary of Cakravāda, what happens?
A: Oh no. From a high-dimensional perspective, the size of Mount Sumeru remains identical. The sea of chaos is infinite by worldbuilding, so it cannot be completely filled. If you ask how Seo Eun-hyun was able to reach the boundary of Cakravāda if it is infinite, that is because chaos is an infinite place where ‘all things can happen’. That is why all beings of True Immortal and above that can manipulate fate are capable of reaching the end of the Outer Sea by drawing out the possibility of ‘crossing the infinite’ from the possibilities of all things that can happen.
Q: When it is said that Mount Sumeru is older than the number of sands in the Ganges river, is that an expression like “countless Heavenly Domains (actually just 9 of them)” or does it actually have a history longer than 10^52 years?
A: I think it’s more correct to think of it as an expression, haha.
Q: Who is more likely to reach True Immortal between a random Mount Sumeru native and an Ender?
A: By ratio, it is inevitably Enders…
Q: Looking at Salt Sea and Seo Eun-hyun’s arrangements, it appears there are things that the Emptiness Supreme Deity cannot erase effortlessly. What’s the standard for not being removed by the History Revision of the Emptiness Supreme Deity?
A: All beings that reached the rank of Supreme Deity or higher cannot be erased effortlessly. However, resisting that still takes a significant consumption of power, so that is why Underworld did not resist. She could have ended up wasting power in front of Seo Eun-hyun who had not even reached True Immortal properly.
Q: Are there no artifacts other than Immortal Treasure that can affect combat at the level of True Immortals?
A: If it’s an artifact that can affect combat at that level, that would be an Immortal Treasure anyways…

A: Kim Young-hoon’s saber is, but not sure about the Heavenly Void Furnace. You could count it as an Immortal Treasure.

A: Knowledge that you read in Earth languages and knowledge inside the world of Mount Sumeru are not compatible. Even if it were compatible, if you had wisdom about [Hope], there is a high chance it won’t bother you and instead detach from your brain and move alive to leave you alone and head towards the boundary of Cakravāda to run away from Mount Sumeru.
Q: You have previously stated that there was a time when the realm of True Immortality did not exist, does that mean before Future King made the Immortal art of Immortal Cultivation, there were no True Immortals other than Governing Immortal level beings that seized Origin Essences of their own?
A: Even back then, if one refined one’s heart above a certain realm, they could become immortal. Prophecy and History Revision also did exist back then too.
Q: Why do beings that die in the Audience Chamber get annihilated?
A: Because Fate does not allow their resurrection.
Q: How much fraction of power do things like the Blood Yin Realm Esteemed One’s left hand and such hold?
A: Around 1/20.

A: Usually from Heaven Tribe. Especially six major races.

A: It is the mark of a self-attained Creator God, so it is very rare, yes.
Q: What’s the standard for distinguishing someone who has taken Root? What’s the minimum strength of a being that has taken Root?
A: Regardless of strength, the standard for judgement is whether one has the qualifications for creating a world with completely different laws.
Q: Does the shortcut to the True Immortal Realm that the 50 Entering Nirvana were searching for actually exist in the Nether Ghost Realm? If so, what is it?
A: The fact that it is the corpse of the Reincarnation Judge. If one died but reincarnated with memory, that is accepting death, so they were looking for the remnants of the power of the Seat of Reincarnation.
Q: Are there completely artificial Immortal Treasures that don’t use cultivators of Sacred Vessel or higher?
A: If a True Immortal uses their split soul for their Immortal Treasure, that is an Immortal Treasure that does not use a Sacred Vessel. Examples in the work are Sealing Immortal Flags and Serving Command Seal.
Q: Is the reason that cuisine in Middle Realm did not develop that much because of how common demon beasts are?
A: Mostly because they can absorb more sensation from Heaven and Earth Spiritual Energy than flavor. If all the races had similar tastes maybe there would have been an overall development, but they also all have different tongues.
Q: Mad Lord talked about genes, Hon Won talked about microbes, and Golden Shaking Bird talked about relativity, so how developed is purely scientific knowledge of Mount Sumeru cultivators compared to Earth?
A: There is no concept of science in Mount Sumeru. The examples you listed are treated as facts that can be naturally learned from ‘senses’ when one’s realm becomes higher rather than science.
Q: Why are there humans in multiple otherworlds?
A: Humans are easy to copy. And there are impersonal Creator Gods that mindlessly copy other worlds as well. Of course, the Doylist reason is that humans are just part of the xianxia default.
Q: Sun and Moon Heavenly Domain doesn’t have the distinction between Qi Soul Fate Immortal planes like the other Heavenly Domains do, is there a special reason for this?
A: Heavenly Domains are the consciousness of the Supreme Deities. The original owner of the consciousness of Sun and Moon is a being that has transcended the concept of Qi Soul Fate Immortal.

A: Uh….. Theoretically…. Possible….? However, if one is made that way, they would be quite weaker than someone in the same realm unless they have a special trait.

A: The most important thing in Supreme Deity advancement is, if you had a previous Seat owner, getting the acknowledgement of the previous Seat owner is the fastest method. A: One could find laws that don’t change no matter which world one goes to. Such as laws(?) like your opponent feeling pain if you punch them. Other than that, there are laws that work in any world one goes to, such as the principle of striking the particle itself, ways to control muscles or power of one’s entire body, or ways to accept energy with the body. If one studies such principles, one could stand in the same position as a god even in low power worlds. Additionally, I will write about travelling to other worlds in the Side Story or other works, so if you read those, you will understand better.
