◈ I Made a Tier List the Transcendents Are Obsessed With ◈
Chapter 12: Discussion (2)
──────
In short, my tier list was not actually perfect and flawless.
It was merely an inference of what things would be like, based on the descriptions in the novel and the facts confirmed there.
Still, I had some confidence that it would be closest to the truth.
└ Oz) I’m saying the tier list itself can be an inference, but the evidence can’t be based on inference.
So there was no need to add anything further to the argument that said, “Isn’t this just your prediction too?”
└ Oz) Now you’re asking if they’ve actually fought. You and the Main God haven’t fought under the Yacha Rules either, so you don’t know who’s stronger?
└ Oz) Your premise is wrong from the start. You’re insisting there must be something more as evidence for your inference? Nahalrm could have a super-civilization galaxy-killing weapon hidden in its womb, pull it out, and fire it.
└ LightCluster) Where are you putting what, you crazy bastard? Hahahahaha
└ Philosopher) A weapon that exterminates life hidden in a place where life is born... How philosophical.
└ EatManaWhenBored) ? What the hell are they saying now
That alone sank every doubt that what I had presented, along with its evidence, might be wrong.
The tier list I had posted in the Lower Realm community before was the same.
It had not been trusted at first, but it had gained this much influence later for one reason.
The people on the tier list could verify its contents.
- Beyond the Boundary) I think almost everything Oz unni wrote is right? There are a few things even I don’t know, though.
└ Oz) Thanks for verifying it, but why am I your big sister?
└ Beyond the Boundary) Wow, you aren’t seriously going to say you might be younger than me, are you? Have some shame...
Sure enough, one of the people in question showed up and confirmed it.
“But what exactly is she so hung up on?”
Still, I could not help feeling baffled by that incomprehensible remark.
She seemed to have figured something out about my identity, but had confidently jumped to the wrong conclusion.
Her true form was probably Epin of the Void.
As her epithet, the One Who Knocks on Doors, suggested, she had the ability to reach every “entrance” in existence.
She had many other distinctive traits, of course, but that was the biggest one.
Unlike most beings from the Void, her true body was not an Aberration.
In the original, she seemed to be quite the brains of the operation, but she was saying something with a few screws loose.
Maybe she had been hanging around that snake bastard too much.
└ Oz) Don’t hang out with that snakehead too often. Stupidity is contagious.
That was the only advice I could give her.
She had lived tens of millions of times longer than I had, but I had gone through this world forty-two times.
You became like the company you kept. I could not let one perfectly fine Transcendent go to waste.

- Oz) I’m saying Siel can’t one-shot someone whose true body is powerful, like Heukjong or Nirvakh. Like I said earlier, if the one-shot fails, Siel is incapacitated. A vegetable versus someone half-crippled, the latter wins. They can crawl over, dragging a leg, and stab the other with a knife. Then the person who gets stabbed dies, right? Got it?
└ Bangak) Remarkable. I agree.
└ OldNewbie) Oz’s analogies never disappoint lol
└ GiantDemonGod) I concede. Siel really is fourth.
└ Oz) Okay, you conceded cleanly, so that’s all for nowww.
“Ughhh...”
After crushing that final rebuttal, I got up with a triumphant stretch.
My condition was still not normal, but I had recovered enough to move around.
“Five days. Ha.”
By the time I came to my senses, I had spent five whole days browsing the gallery.
I would have to get used to it, but my sense of time really felt broken.
Talking with beings who lived a day as if it were a second was bizarre.
[ 496,109P ]
But the returns were undeniable.
I could not help smiling at the points, which had already climbed close to five hundred thousand.
“Mm, I’m the best, sem.”
One Transcendent had kept saying “sem-sam” while I browsed the gallery, and I had picked up the verbal tic a little.
Rumble-
I checked the mana inside my body once more.
I was no longer at four and a half stars. I was truly close to five.
It was still incomplete, but it should stabilize within a few days.
“If I can just enter the Magical Way, I’ll be able to learn other things too.”
Nine stars.
The endpoint of Concept Magic, which came after System Magic.
Once I reached that point and entered the Magical Way, I could truly join the ranks of the Lower Realm’s strong.
This planet, which had taken its motif from Earth, was itself a rather remote backwater within its dimension and galaxy.
With just a little more growth, I would be able to move about freely on this planet.
“...I should bring them over, right?”
My goal is to eat the protagonist before I leave this planet.
That did not mean I intended to eat them like some Void Aberration.
Their nature was gentle and honest, and they were a gem among talents. I meant that I should make them my ally.
The protagonist had always grown at an unprecedented rate in this world.
With my support added to that, they could grow into an overwhelmingly powerful being.
Even with the gallery at my disposal, I would struggle to target a Transcendent above a middling level.
The protagonist was different.
If I could not become the strongest, I would aim to become the strongest person’s adoptive father.
That would probably turn my life into a comfortable immortality.
“Up we go. Ughhh...”
As I energetically climbed down from the bed, a tingling pain shot through my back.
“Fuck.”
Only after swearing once was I finally able to move properly.
Then I used telekinesis to clean up the mess scattered across the floor.
Of course, I could not manage any delicate mana control, so I just shoved everything roughly into a bag.
None of it was particularly important anyway.
After making those preparations, I picked up a jade ring from the table beside my bed.
“...This is a little awkward, though.”
The reason this jade ring had suddenly come into my possession was also related to the gallery.
More specifically, it was because of the nonsense spread by No Existence.
After I came to be called PositiveCuteSunshineSexy... whatever that absurdly grand title was.
A huge number of DMs had truly flooded in.
Could Transcendents really be so girl-crazy?
...The answer was, “Of course they can.”
Female forms are rare to begin with.
Even by Lower Realm standards, the gender ratio among the empowered was somewhat wrecked.
At the Golden Core Realm or below, Magic Path Mage or below, Natural Realm or below... around that level, the ratio was roughly three men to every woman.
The higher the realm, the scarcer female forms became. By the point of transcendence, it was ten to one.
And among High Divinities with official listings... sadly, it was sixty to one.
There were almost no Transcendents with a partner who truly matched their level.
Of course, some Transcendents formed companion bonds even with partners who did not match them.
But those cases were rare as well. A quote from a Transcendent who had been rather gentlemanly in the original made the reality clear.
“Do you perhaps remember your childhood, before you entered the path?”
“Yes, I remember it.”
“What did you think while looking at the ants and insects you played with as a child?”
“...I do not think I thought much of anything.”
“Exactly. What would you think while looking at them? That is how we feel when we see those who have not ascended to the Great Heavenly World. How can one share a marital bond with a lesser creature?”
Leaving aside the utterly disgusted expression the protagonist made after hearing that answer.
With reality like this, the reaction to a female Transcendent above a certain level could only be this way.
Then one post drove the point home.
[ Oz is currently single, I proclaim. ] - OnlyRegression
...Some crazy woman had burned through seventy million years’ worth of karma to find out whether I was married.
Of course, she probably thought that much power had been required because I was some tremendous Transcendent, but the truth was the complete opposite.
This was a low-civilization planet in the Lower Realm that received the greatest adjustment from causality. That was why even getting such a simple answer required so much effort.
It seemed she could not uncover any greater truth.
She appeared to have collapsed from the aftereffects of that divination, but in exchange, she had been crowned the gallery’s third-generation hero.
Since that was still ongoing, she could be called the longest-serving hero in its history.
“Ahem.”
So what did any of that have to do with this ring?
[ Oz, I know this message may burden you... ]
There had been a DM from a Transcendent.
They were famous enough that even I knew them well.
The message began with an extremely cautious preamble, but in short, it was a love letter.
So I had initially planned to ignore it.
They were too big a name to block.
If I just left most DMs unread, people would assume I did not check DMs at all.
[ ...Separately, this is a gift from me. Its spiritual essence is nothing special, but is its appearance not quite beautiful? ]
[ Go to Private Exchange Listing ]
But then there was that final sentence.
And the exchange link that appeared afterward.
“Well, you can’t exactly refuse something someone gives you.”
I shut my eyes and accepted the ring displayed there.
It was an item that had appeared several times in the original.
It was extremely useful, and it could be used in the Lower Realm without any risk.
“...”
Of course, I was not entirely unashamed of giving in so easily to greed.
My conscience pricked even more when I considered that the ring’s original owner had been something like that Transcendent’s grandniece.
I felt like a guy catfishing innocent boys in an RPG when I was younger.
But what could I do?
The embarrassment would pass, while the practical benefits would last.
I decided not to bother denying that I was PositiveCute... whatever.
