◈ Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint ◈
Chapter 568: Episode 3: Protagonist(?) (5)

"That's right. That's him!"
I activated a Skill on the girl who was confidently badmouthing me.

Just as I thought.
Then I should use this.

It had only been my second time using it, and its proficiency had already increased?
I should use this more often.

This was the second Reader I had met after Uncle Dansu.
A Number of Completed Reads of 1.8 probably meant this person had read Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint through to the end at least once.
Was this person actually a good person?
Let's see what comments they left.

I like Jeong Huiwon.

Starting today, I'll do 100 push-ups, 100 squats, and run 10 km every day to become a man worthy of Huiwon-nim.

I couldn't tell if they were serious or if this was a bit.

Huiwon-nim... I love you... I really do... I love you as much as 3,000 squats...

I can do what Lee Hyeongseong did, too.

I thought about what had happened in Chapter 139 of Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
That would have been around Episode 27. Nirvana had probably appeared, and Huiwon, infected by Ideological Infection, had gone on a rampage. Was that the scene where Lee Hyeongseong threw himself into stopping her rampage?
Uncle Dansu asked, "That little lady is like us... right?"
"I think so."
I decided to make contact with them first.
The moment I approached, though, the girl started screaming.
"Ahhh! Help me!"
"Excuse me."
"He's trying to kill me! Even if he's not, he'll do something bad anyway!"
I was about to say there was no way I'd do that, but then I remembered that I was Inho Cheon.
I raised both hands slightly to show I had no hostile intentions.
"No, I was just trying to say hello..."
Before I could finish, Cheolsu sprang out beside me and shouted, "Listen up! From now on, Geumho Station is occupied by our Ironhead Gang! Put down everything you've got and head over there right―"
I smacked the back of Cheolsu's head as hard as I could.
[The Constellation Monarch of the Small Fries has sponsored 100 coins.]
After making the aggrieved-looking Cheolsu step back, I looked at the girl again.
"I'm not a bad person. You seem to be misunderstanding something―"
"Don't come any closer, you villain!"
"She said not to come."
Huiwon hid the girl behind her and spoke in a resolute voice.
The girl poked her head out from behind Huiwon's shoulder and looked at me smugly.
So that was how she wanted to play it.
Letting out a soft sigh, I said, "It can't be helped. Then let's just talk like this."
Huiwon looked back and forth between the girl and me before asking her, "Will you be okay?"
When the girl looked at Huiwon as if she was troubled, Huiwon turned back to me.
"She's scared. Talk to her later."
"I have no intention of threatening her. If it comes to it, Huiwon-ssi can step in and stop me."
I called Cheolsu over and took a pipe from him. Huiwon's expression hardened, as if she thought I had finally revealed my true colors.
I handed the pipe to her.
"If I show even the slightest sign of threatening her, hit me in the head with this."
"What?"
"Hard."
[The Constellation Monarch of the Small Fries' eyes gleam.]
Huiwon stared blankly down at the pipe in her hands before saying in a flustered voice, "I wasn't planning to go that far―"
"Then I'll begin."
I cleared my throat and began speaking in a theatrical voice.
"I like Jeong Huiwon."
Huiwon looked at me with puzzled eyes.
I continued, "Starting today, I'll do 100 push-ups, 100 squats, and run 10 km every day to become a man worthy of Huiwon-nim."
Huiwon looked as though she was debating whether she should hit me in the head.
"Huiwon-nim... I love you... I really do..."
"What are you doing right now?"
"I can do what Lee Hyeongseong can―"
"W-wait!"
The girl, whose face had turned pale, finally rushed out from behind Huiwon.
I grinned.
"Are you ready to talk now, JudgeHuiw―"
The girl swiftly covered my mouth, then turned to Huiwon with an awkward smile.
"Unni, I'm sorry. I think I misjudged him."
"Are you okay? It looks like he's threatening you."
"No! He really isn't, so you don't need to worry!"
Watching the girl panic, I became certain once more.
There was no doubt about it.
This was the person who had sat next to me at the Event Theater.
Nickname [JudgeHuiwon].
The muscular man who had answered the quiz about Huiwon's sword, leapt onto the stage roaring, and entered this world through Possession.
Wait a second. Now that I thought about it, this person had originally been a man.
Now, he, or perhaps she, had become a girl even smaller than Huiwon and was covering my mouth.
"Let's go talk over there?"
* * *
"Um... Inho Cheon-nim?"
"Yes."
"Who exactly are you?"
JudgeHuiwon looked at Uncle Dansu and me with frightened eyes. She seemed to be trying to figure out who we were from our appearances.
There was no way she could know who I was.
I figured I should ease her guard a little first. Fortunately, I had learned the social language for moments like this.
"Huiwon is great, isn't she?"
"What? Well, of course..."
JudgeHuiwon's expression turned strange.
"Could it be?"
"Yes. That's right."
"Your nickname was unusual..."
I nodded.
"That All-Carrier? You were with that pretty woman?"
"Uh... yes."
"The one who couldn't answer a single question!"
"I did answer one. That's why I got in here."
JudgeHuiwon stood there with her mouth hanging open. She seemed to be sorting out the situation in her head.
To reassure her, I added, "I'm in the same position as you. So is this uncle."
Uncle Dansu gave a polite, slight bow.
JudgeHuiwon muttered in a trembling voice, "Just as I thought. There were others besides me..."
She looked at us with tears in her eyes, as if she might burst into tears at any moment, then began chattering away.
"I thought I was really going to die. It's a good thing I remembered the First Scenario."
"How did you get through it?"
"I did it by the book. Bugs are the golden rule, you know."
Judging by the way she declared it so confidently, this person had actively contributed to making the First Scenario a complete mess, just like I had.
"The Scenario got twisted in the middle, so I almost died... but I got lucky. I got trapped with Huiwon-nim."
So was JudgeHuiwon the reason Huiwon survived without killing anyone?
JudgeHuiwon wiped the sweat from her forehead as if she had finally caught her breath.
"Phew... Anyway, if you were fellow Readers, you should've said so sooner. We almost had a serious problem."
"I kept trying to tell you, but you hid. On top of that, you called me a villain."
"I never imagined there would be someone who underwent Possession as Inho Cheon. Why Inho Cheon of all people?"
Why was I Inho Cheon?
I wondered the same thing.
Still, JudgeHuiwon seemed to have completely dropped her hostility now.
"Let's introduce ourselves first. As you can see, I'm Inho Cheon."
"I'm Lee Dansu."
After hearing our names, JudgeHuiwon nodded as if she understood.
"The rule is to use the names of the people on this side, like a TRPG?"
I was about to say something, but stopped myself.
For some reason, JudgeHuiwon looked shy as she gave her new name.
"I'm Gyeong Se-in."
"Should I call you JudgeHuiwon-nim?"
"You should call me Gyeong Se-in."
She adapted quickly.
* * *
Even though it was still the first day of the Scenario, there was a lot to do.
Uncle Dansu didn't have a very good memory, but Se-in was a Reader who had completed the novel and remembered quite a lot.
"Naturally, the first thing to do at Geumho Station is gather Food."
Who had decided that damned golden rule?
It sounded like everyone had gathered together and written an Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint Apocalypse Survival Guide.
Anyway, we split up to loot vending machines and mini marts.
Cheolsu and the Ironhead Gang helped as well.
About thirty minutes passed.
"Is this all? Did you check every convenience store nearby?"
"Yes, this is everything."
We succeeded in gathering all the Food at Geumho Station in one place.
There were 134 people trapped inside Geumho Station.
This was barely enough Food for a single day.
Se-in asked, "What should we do? Sell it for coins?"
"No. We'll just give it out."
Like Kim Dokja in the main story, I could have made a small profit by selling it for coins. But I didn't choose that method.
Se-in agreed.
"Yeah, taking coins from those people doesn't feel right. Kim Dokja really wasn't ordinary."
"Se-in-ssi, please distribute Food to the people over there. Cheolsu, you take the other side."
"Understood."
"Uncle Dansu, distribute it with me."
As we handed out Food, I looked over the citizens' faces one by one.
When I wrote this scene, I hadn't known what expressions people who had killed someone and survived would wear.
"Thank you."
Everyone who died in the First Scenario had their heads explode. The pale faces of the dead now remained, unchanged, on the faces of the living.
"Some of you may already know this, but monsters are roaming around outside. It would be wise to stay here safely and wait for rescue."
"Will a rescue team really come?"
"They will."
Of course, no rescue team would come.
[The number of people at Geumho Station currently supporting you is 48.]
[35% of Geumho Station currently supports you.]
It wasn't a bad pace.
At this rate, I might be able to occupy Geumho Station and complete the Scenario within the next thirty minutes.
[Constellations of the absolute good alignment are moved by your devotion.]
[You have received a sponsorship of 100 coins.]
On top of that, I had gained the Constellations' favor.
The Inho Cheon Rehabilitation Project was steadily progressing.
[The character Bang Cheolsu feels an unknown emotion.]
And perhaps Cheolsu, too.
"Boss Cheolsu. Are we doing the right thing?"
"I don't know. It feels kind of ticklish."
The Ironhead Gang members looked strangely excited as they handed out bread and snacks while receiving people's thanks.
This was probably the first time anyone had thanked them.
I didn't know how much of their stories the few sentences I had written could alter.
Still, there were times when you had to write a sentence even if it could change nothing. Like questions you had no choice but to ask, even when you knew the answer.
"Have you seen a girl named No Jiyoon, by any chance?"
Uncle Dansu, who was helping distribute Food beside me, kept asking people similar questions.
"I don't know. What does she look like?"
"I... only know her name."
Jiyoon was the name of Uncle Dansu's daughter.
In truth, he must have known. Even if he searched for his daughter here by name, he wouldn't find her. His daughter would now have undergone Possession as a completely different person, living under a different name.
Yet Uncle Dansu didn't stop asking.
As if that name alone were proof, in this familiar yet unfamiliar world, that he was not Lee Dansu, but someone's father.
I watched him for a moment, then opened my phone.
The platform app appeared on the screen.
Just as Uncle Dansu had his daughter's name as proof of himself, this was the only record I had to prove who I was.

I stared blankly at the title of the novel I had written.
Then, after some time had passed, a sudden chill ran down my spine.
What was this?
I stared at the screen again. Most of all, I checked the chapter count for Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint.
The Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint I knew had ended at Chapter 551.
