◈ Spring Never Comes to Stolen Fields ◈
Chapter 7: Relationship
──────
After Luna's bombshell declaration, I had a massive headache.
After all, Yuwol's plan to rescue Hero Celia had been built on the assumption that I was a very powerful human.
Step one. Grit my teeth, train hard under Master, and become incredibly strong.
Step two. Return to the Human World.
Step three. Smash every human who gets in my way and rescue Celia.
Honestly, if I made it to step three, the Demon King probably wouldn't be killed. That would repay all the kindness I'd received.
Step four. Return to a sweet, happy life with Celia.
It had been such a perfect plan...
I couldn't help but lament.
Of course, becoming a demon wasn't entirely bad.
Magical power. It was an overwhelming sense of fullness, completely different from mana.
After training with magical power, I realized just how pitiful humans were.
Demons were practically a species born with cheats.
Humans had to painstakingly create everything one piece at a time to achieve the results they wanted.
Demons, on the other hand, could use magic as naturally as breathing. It wasn't something they learned. They could simply do it from the moment they were born.
After struggling for the past three years, I couldn't help but feel empty.
There was one more thing that had changed.
My relationship with Luna, the girl who had ruined my perfect rescue plan.
It might have been because of my Innate Magic, but she confessed her love to me and put a leash around my neck at the same time.
Still, there was something unusual about our relationship.
"Sirius. Look at me."
Luna had recently started openly trying to seduce me.
She'd grown a lot lately, so I already couldn't let my guard down around her. Since the Innate Magic ritual, though, her boldness had been testing the limits of my patience.
Luna, who normally only wore black, had somehow gotten hold of a red skirt today.
Wearing a color she normally didn't would have been stimulating enough.
What shocked me even more was how short the skirt was.
It ended far above her snow-white calves, exposing her slender thighs to the world.
The dangerously short hem, which looked like it might reveal what lay above, was far too stimulating for a virgin like me.
"Why do you keep telling me to look?"
Unable to decide where to put my eyes, I muttered while staring at a distant mountain.
Please... look at me...
If I actually looked just because she told me to, the Demon King would kill me.
No, maybe I'd suffer a fate so terrible that death would be preferable.
It was hard to hold back at my age, but I had no intention of dying young.
Apparently dissatisfied with my lukewarm reaction, Luna pouted.
"...Sirius..."
Ah... please...
Whenever she called my name like that, I always got a bad feeling.
My whole body tingled.
"Look properly."
I stopped pretending to be distracted and stiffly raised my head, my eyes sweeping over her entire body.
Not by my own will, of course.
Still, even she couldn't control my body's natural reactions, and my face turned red as a tomato.
After releasing the restraint, Luna giggled, apparently pleased by my reaction.
"You should've looked when I told you to. Why make me go to all this trouble~"
She sounded like a thug who claimed they'd asked nicely before robbing you.
Whenever Luna acted like this, I couldn't help but feel torn inside.
Celia had always been the breakwater that held me back.
This much temptation might have been enough to make me give in, but I always remembered Celia's final words, when she told me to wait for her.
The memory of that day, when she kissed me with tears in her eyes, was the decisive reason I couldn't accept Luna, no matter how sorry I felt for her.
I sighed and spoke seriously.
"Luna... I wish you'd stop acting like this."
Luna immediately sensed the change in my tone and backed down.
"I'm sorry... You don't like it when I do this? I thought you'd like it... I'm sorry... Please don't hate me..."
She suddenly wilted.
That was the unusual part.
Even though I was her Thrall, if I was genuinely uncomfortable or annoyed with her, even a little, she became frightened instead.
She desperately hated the thought of me becoming emotionally distant from her.
So, despite being the one with all the power, she watched my reactions closely.
It made me realize once again just how powerful my Innate Magic was.
Luna was a demon with more pride than anyone.
She was the Demon King's daughter, and even as a demon herself, she possessed strength that couldn't be ignored.
There probably weren't many men in the world who could see someone like her panic, apologize, and beg not to be abandoned.
Still, it hurt to see her so anxious, so I always tried to say something kind to her in the end.
"Luna... The reason I want you to stop is because of clothes like that. It's not that I dislike them as a man, of course. I just don't like other people seeing you like that."
It wasn't a lie.
I didn't think anyone in the Demon World would dare commit the disrespectful crime of ogling the Demon King's daughter, but I still didn't like the thought of other people's eyes falling on her.
She had been curled up like a wounded puppy, but one sentence from me was enough to brighten her mood again. She came over and sat beside me.
"Then doesn't that mean it's fine as long as I only change into clothes like this in front of you?"
She rested her head on my shoulder and held my hand.
She looked so happy that I couldn't bring myself to say anything. Besides, I figured this much physical contact was fine.
"Yeah. Only show yourself like that in front of me."
I stroked her head and answered with a smile.
Her silver hair smelled like oranges.
Wasn't that scent a little too fresh for a demon?
I felt like I could get drunk on her fragrance.
Thinking I'd relaxed enough, she began teasing me again.
"Well~ This outfit and this much touching must be too much for our virgin Sirius. Sorry~"
Seriously. If I said one harsh word, she looked like her world had collapsed, yet she still teased me so easily.
And she wasn't wrong about me being a virgin, so it was hard to deny it. Still, I felt too awkward to just sit there and listen.
"What are you talking about~ When I was in the Human World, this much physical contact was basically a greeting~"
Luna snickered, then poked me in the side.
"Someone who looks like they've never even kissed anyone has a lot of nerve."
"Hey, I've kissed someone before, okay? Huh?"
I answered with a smile, but no reply came from beside me.
A chill ran through my entire body.
Instinctively, I realized that what I had just said could cause a huge problem.
I didn't dare look at her face.
Feeling awkward, I quietly called her name.
"Lu... Luna...? Ha... haha..."
"Sirius."
Her voice was sharp. I had to answer this carefully.
"Yes."
"Was what you just said true?"
Wow... Wait... I had no idea how I was supposed to answer that.
If my first option was telling the truth, I couldn't imagine what would happen to me.
The second option was lying, but that came with considerable risk.
The moment she activated her Innate Magic, I would immediately confess my crime.
Trapped with no way forward or back, I finally decided to confess.
"Yeah... It's true. I've kissed someone before."
Trying to keep the atmosphere as gentle as possible, I smiled as naturally as I could.
When I turned to meet her gaze, her eyes looked more demonic than ever.
I was lucky actual flames weren't coming out of her red eyes.
Then she spoke.
"Who?"
Ah... If I said it, I was really going to hell...
This conversation had already gone off the rails, but Luna's one question was a painfully fatal blow.
And because I had to tell the truth, I could feel cold sweat soaking my back.
"Wi... with Celia..."
The punishment for carelessly running my mouth was going to be severe.
Silence fell between us.
It was the first time in my life that time had felt so slow.
Please... Say something...
Worried by Luna's continued silence, I gathered my courage and looked at her face.
She was clenching her fists, trembling all over as tears welled in her eyes.
It wasn't the reaction I expected. I thought she would punish me or get angry.
Because she did something I hadn't anticipated, my already pouring cold sweat began flowing twice as fast.
Then Luna opened her mouth in a trembling voice.
"Was it nice...?"
"Huh?"
"Did it feel good, kissing that Hero bitch...?"
What was this, a critical-hit party? Every word hit me like a heavy blow.
I couldn't bring myself to say that it had felt good, so I silently listened to her.
"Ha... Sirius... Why did you put this damn magic on me...?"
Luna hit my chest once.
"You won't even look at me no matter what I do...!"
Twice.
"You have no idea... how miserable I feel right now..."
Three times.
"I have you... I'm the one beside you right now... but I can't do anything..."
Her tears dripped onto the floor.
"I wanted to share every first time with you... I was looking forward to it so much... You bastard..."
Her face was ruined by tears.
Guilt rushed over me like a flood.
I had always thought of myself as the victim. I had barely considered that she might be suffering too.
I really was... selfish.
I pulled her sobbing body into my arms.
"I'm sorry... Luna... I'm really sorry..."
Luna became the second girl I had made cry.
We held each other for a long time. When she seemed to have calmed down, I loosened my arms and we faced each other.
"Sirius. I... have a request..."
Seeing her bloodshot eyes, I felt like I had to grant her whatever she asked for.
"Can you give the rest of your first times to me...?"
...So that's where this was going...?
