└golemking: newbie needs more training when it comes to fighting, LOL.

└dip: Still, that's pretty good for a first time. newbie looks twice as good as you did when you first fought a Gnome.

└golemking: Why the fuck did you have to bring that up? Says the bastard who pissed themself when they first met a Troll. Pot calling the kettle black, LOL.

└dip: Ah, LOL. Did that get under your skin?

└golemking: Yeah, piss-pants. You're trembling while you type too, aren't you? You're the one who got triggered, right?

└dip: Your mom.

anonbutcher: The hardware's good, but it feels like the software can't keep up.

└psychward_mvp: That's why they smell so damn sexy... Looks like they'll grow quickly...

└anonbutcher: I agree with that.

└psychward_mvp: Newbie smells sexy? Wasn't that out of character for you?

└anonbutcher: NoImeanIagreethatthey'llgrowquicklyifsomeoneteachesthem...

└humanluvr: Good work!! newbie!!

└no_minions_4_me: Good job!

Another heartwarming day on the Dungeon Gallery.

I was about to leave a comment, but stopped and sighed instead.

"Phew..."

I wiped the blood off my knife with a cloth.

It was a weapon I'd bought earlier for 100 Points.

Ten Goblins lay sprawled out in front of me.

I'd personally taken them down just a moment ago.

"They really weren't much..."

Following the Gallery users' advice, I'd fought the Goblins myself in case I ever had to fight on my own. Of course, I kept Vroom-Vroom behind me so I could make a run for it whenever I needed to.

I won.

Honestly, it was easy. I didn't struggle at all.

It had probably been my first time fighting someone since middle school, so I thought I'd fumble around.

Once it became a real fight, though, my mind actually started working faster.

I dodged their spears and drove my knife into them. After repeating that around ten times, the Wave was over.

My body was incomparably faster and stronger than any Goblin.

I'd probably have the upper hand even against Hobgoblins.

Trolls would likely be difficult, though.

Then again.

That might change once I bought Anomaly Traits.

Still, it was impossible right now, when buying traps had nearly broken the bank.

Most of them were high-grade, too.

They were so expensive it was ridiculous.

Anyway.

My body was absurdly blessed now.

And this was how well I did despite being a complete beginner who wasn't used to fighting at all.

If I went back to South Korea, couldn't I dominate every athletic event out there?

I already thought it was strange that I no longer felt thirst or hunger after becoming a Dungeon Master.

Even when I got stabbed by a spear during the fight with the Goblins, I barely felt any pain.

The injury was minor, but even the wound and my torn clothes slowly regenerated.

"Is this really a human body...?"

It felt strange.

Like this body wasn't really mine.

Of course, it was far superior to my old body, so I should've been happy.

Even so, I needed at least a little time to adjust to such sudden changes.

Slurp.

The cleaning Slime started licking the Goblin corpses.

That was enough reflection for now.

Squelch.

I pulled the Slime away from the corpses for a moment.

"Blugh..."

"Wait a little. I've got to collect the loot first."

Squish, squish.

When I kneaded it like a blob of goo, the Slime settled down.

The more I looked at it, the cuter it got.

"From now on, your name is Malrang. Got it, Malrang?"

"Blorp."

The cloth I'd just used to wipe my knife was loot taken from another intruder.

It was dirty, but I often rummaged through things because I could find useful items.

Otherwise, Malrang would eat everything.

Let's see.

Goblins usually didn't bring much besides food, so I hadn't found anything useful.

"What is this...?"

I found a stone with a strange pattern drawn on it.

* * *

I uploaded a picture of the stone to the Gallery.

Asking the Gallery was the fastest way to find out about anything I didn't know.

└no_minions_4_me: It's a Spell Stone...

└squintychar: Is there a race in the Lowjinrat Great Mountain Range that knows how to use magic??

└humanluvr: As far as I remember, there wasn't anyone at all... This feels a little unsettling...

└worldiscold: IMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSDIMGETTINGPTSD

└humanluvr: What's wrong with this person??

└skullbones: The intruders last time were a group of fourth- or fifth-Circle Elf mages, LOL.

└humanluvr: Ah.

A Spell Stone.

I still didn't fully understand this world.

But I had a rough idea of it as a medieval fantasy setting where there were all sorts of races that could be called monsters, along with magic and various related techniques.

Of course there would be mages.

Except I was in the Lowjinrat Great Mountain Range, far away from any intelligent beings capable of magic.

└magichero: That's a Dark School Spell Stone...

└newbie: What's that?

└magichero: It's a device that helps you use difficult magic easily by skipping parts of the process... Um, think of it as a hammer... If magic is the act of hammering in a nail, then a Spell Stone is the hammer that makes it easier...

└newbie: Give me a three-line summary.

└magichero: I-I-it's just a Spell Stone used to brainwash someone...

Huh?

Was hypnotic training and corruption theoretically possible in this world? That's genuinely terrifying.

└magichero: It's nothing amazing... Brainwashing only works on weak and stupid races like Goblins in the first place... Unless you have special eyes like humanluvr, it's almost useless... Even First-Circle mages can use it...

└newbie: I see.

humanluvr.

Could she have become some kind of hypnotist...? Of course, I knew she was a beautiful, silver-haired, slender vampire girl because she'd posted a photo before, supposedly a selfie.

└magichero: For reference, mages exist from the First Circle to the Ninth Circle... So you don't need to worry too much about people using shallow magic like this, but... Um... This is...

└newbie: Okay, okay, I get it.

So.

The real issue was that someone capable of using magic was in these mountains full of nothing but idiots. And since they had sent Goblins into Dreamland, they clearly had something planned.

└magichero: Th-th-they probably controlled the Goblins to obtain information about the dungeon... Brainwashing magic generally shares vision too... They might know what newbie looks like as well... T_T...

└newbie: That's kind of really scary...

└golemking: ?

└squintychar: ?

└newbie: What now?

└golemking: Fuck, your dungeon is scarier.

└squintychar: Agreed.

└dip: Seriously, LOL. If I were an intruder in newbie's dungeon, I'd just kill myself.

└no_minions_4_me: Agreed...

Was Dreamland really that horrifying?

No, they all thought I was some kind of horror story expert, but everything had just happened that way.

It wasn't intentional.

Probably.

I petted Malrang, who was sitting on my lap.

It licked at my face and cleaned off the blood.

"That tickles."

"Blugh."

"Still, thanks."

A mage.

A being who used superior techniques the idiots couldn't.

└newbie: Will a damn human finally come to me?

└humanluvr: Lucky you, getting a buffet...

└newbie: ?

└magichero: Humans aren't the only ones who use magic... There are Elves, humans, and surely other exceptions too...

└magichero: A-a-and the brainwashing magic you found is, like I said, the most basic of the basics, so you don't really need to be scared...

└anonbutcher: Still, you should prepare thoroughly.

I was certainly sick of seeing the vicious faces of Goblins and Trolls every day.

Should I be happy about this or not?

└no_minions_4_me: Come to think of it, what level are you now, newbie?

└newbie: I'm level 20.

└worldiscold: Life is unfair...

└tvhead: Even my nonexistent stomach hurts...

The Veterans would be jealous if I told them how many Points I'd earned, so I left it at that.

Come to think of it, there was something I wanted to ask them.

└newbie: Aren't you guys dungeon shut-ins?

└whaleyeah: Why are you picking a fight??

└psychward_mvp: Fuck, why are you suddenly poking at an old wound...

└newbie: I'm not trying to pick a fight... You guys know a lot despite staying inside your dungeons all the time... I was really curious about that...

The space Dungeon Masters could live in was limited.

Still, the quality of information on the Dungeon Gallery was extremely high.

└anonbutcher: You can get information from intruders without going outside.

└anonbutcher: Users like humanluvr can get secret information without putting much effort into it, too.

└anonbutcher: And you can make deals in exchange for sparing intruders.

Aha.

So Dungeon Masters naturally learned information while dealing with intruders.

That was how it worked.

└humanluvr: newbie.

└newbie: Yeah!!

└humanluvr: Didn't 3-star Pieces unlock once you reached level 20?

└newbie: Yep, correct answer >_<

I'd actually been meaning to ask about that.

I asked the Veterans what I should prioritize investing in to prepare for the suspicious intruder.

"Recruit Minions...?"

They all gave me the same unexpected answer.
