◈ My Platinum-Blonde Childhood Friend is Too Pretty

Chapter 20: Things To Do on the Weekend with a Platinum-Blonde Childhood Friend (1)

A month had passed since we entered high school.

Whether it was our class or another, or even a different grade, everyone gradually became accustomed to Elli's presence.

Maybe it was because she was a pretty girl, or perhaps because she was a naturalized foreigner.

The stories about Elli, which my classmates had found difficult to broach directly, began to surface more freely.

Around that time, there was something that the boys who had become friends with me had always been curious about.

"What do you guys usually do on weekends? Go out on dates?"

The question of what Elli and I did to pass our weekends had been asked every year since middle school.

Back then, the questions had a somewhat innocent quality, but now, a month into high school, the undertone had shifted.

The group of guys gathered around me, with their suggestive smiles, made it clear what kind of answers they were fishing for.

Their eyes, filled with the intense curiosity of adult-themed speculations, were fixed on me.

"Spill the beans, man. I'm dying to know."

"Come on, they've been inseparable since kindergarten. What else would they do on a weekend but stay in for a date?"

"So, what do you guys do at home?"

"Well…"

Their conversations trailed off as they looked at me expectantly, almost as if they had already decided on the answer.

After school today, I had decided to join my classmates for a game of basketball after a long time, sending Elli home first.

During a break, they huddled around me on the basketball court and started throwing these questions at me, probably hoping that Elli and I were up to something risqué.

I understood their curiosity. It was a time when such matters were of great interest, and I, a 17-year-old high school student, was no different.

The sight of these big guys, their eyes shining with eagerness, was somewhat amusing.

"Hmm, what did Elli and I do last weekend…"

I took a moment to recall our most recent weekend activities, starting from the previous Saturday, four days ago.

A month into high school, the weekend arrived.

I had grown a bit more accustomed to the school life, which was both similar and different from middle school.

Due to staying up late on friday, I ended up sleeping in a bit.

It wasn't because I was drawing, but Min-jae had recommended an interesting anime so insistently that I got caught up watching it and went to bed late.

Consequently, I woke up around lunchtime, still groggy, to a brilliant light covering my face.

"Ugh…"

I groaned, squinting against the dazzling brightness, unable to open my eyes immediately.

When I finally managed to lift my eyelids, I saw...

"……."

A princess.

Sitting gently on the edge of my bed, her platinum blonde hair, made even brighter by the sunlight, cascaded around her.

Her long eyelashes and half-closed eyelids veiled her jewel-like eyes.

Even without heavy makeup, her plump lips glowed red, casting a faint blush over her cheeks.

This princess, my childhood friend, Elli, was gazing down at me through my blurry vision.

-Rustle…

Only then did I become aware of the gentle stroke on my head.

Despite it being the weekend, she was dressed in a blouse-like shirt that seemed too pretty for the occasion, and a skirt that...

Wait, a skirt?

Realizing this snapped me out of my drowsiness.

My mind cleared, and I turned my head sharply, only to see Elli in a dress, not a skirt.

It was rare to see Elli, who preferred clothes she could easily move in, in such attire.

Dressed beautifully, with her pale legs visible beneath the dress, I was fully awake.

Yet, I didn't get up immediately, not wanting this moment of her stroking my hair to end. Instead, I spoke while still lying down.

"Are we going out?"

Wondering if she dressed up with plans to go out with me, I asked. But Elli's reply was anything but gentle.

"We're not going anywhere. Get up and wash yourself."

Then, she added one more thing.

"Be quick, we have things to do."

Despite the stunning Elli, dressed in a white shirt and black dress, telling me to hurry up and wash so we could kiss, how could I possibly stay in bed?

-Whoosh

"I'll wash up and be right back."

No matter how pleasant her touch was, I couldn't remain lying down.

I sprang up and headed straight for the bathroom.

-Click!

But the moment I opened my bedroom door...

"Huh?"

I realized our house was enveloped in silence. Normally, both my parents would be in the living room watching TV and chatting at this time.

Wondering if they had gone out to the market, I turned to Elli with a question.

"They went for a drive. With our parents."

It was only after Elli told me that both our families had gone out, leaving us alone, that I became aware of the situation.

I immediately took a morning shower. It wasn't because I was alone with Elli or expecting anything to happen.

It was just a habit developed from hugging each other every morning and evening since we were kids; I didn't want Elli to smell anything unpleasant from me.

After showering, I dressed in underwear and comfortable sweatpants and stepped out with my hair still wet, only to find Elli waiting with a hairdryer.

"Sit down. I'll dry it for you."

From that moment, Elli's gentle care provided immense comfort.

-Whirrrr!

She took her time, using cool air and occasionally warm blasts to meticulously style my hair.

This soothing drying session, almost lulling me back to sleep, lasted about 30 minutes.

"All done."

"Thanks. But are we really not going out? You look too pretty to stay in."

"Hmph, that's enough. We're staying in today. Hurry up and change. I've laid out your clothes on the bed."

"…Change? Even if we're staying in?"

Honestly, sweatpants would be more comfortable for staying in, but as I voiced this thought, Elli's tone dropped.

"Hey."

"I'll change."

Normally, it wouldn't matter what I wore at home, but today felt different.

Elli was dressed in a lovely dress, and I couldn't refuse to change into something less casual.

The clothes she had chosen for me were black slacks and a white knit sweater.

It wasn't Elli's favorite color scheme, being rather plain, but it seemed she had coordinated it with her own outfit, perhaps aiming for a couple's look.

I quickly changed. The sooner I was ready, the sooner we could hug and kiss, extending our indoor date.

After dressing up, putting on socks, and even throwing on a jacket for good measure, I left my room.

-Swish

Elli, who had been waiting at the kitchen table with her phone, stood up as I appeared.

With a haughty tilt of her chin, she beckoned me over softly.

"Kram."

With that single word, she waited with open arms, ready for a hug.

Her adorable posture almost made me burst into laughter, but I managed to hold it back.

Approaching Elli, who was showcasing her beautiful legs beneath the short dress, I wrapped my arms around her slender waist and we exchanged gentle kisses.

"……."

"……."

After our 'greeting,' the reluctance to part was palpable. Elli's rare display of femininity today was captivating, igniting a fire in my heart.

Without a word, our faces drew closer again, setting aside any need for permission.

Pressing my lips against Elli's softly blushing ones felt like an affirmation.

"Mm…"

The kiss lasted longer than usual, more profound than a mere peck, yet not quite a kiss in the true sense for us.

-Clench…

Elli seemed to enjoy the extended contact, tightening her embrace around my neck as we shared this intimate moment.

After our kiss, Elli led me to the living room.

We turned on Netflix on the TV, and I sat on the floor with my back against the sofa, while Elli nestled between my legs, leaning back against me.

In that moment, it dawned on me.

'Valentine's Day?'

This setup reminded me of Valentine's Day this year, when we spent time in a room café.

Back then, Elli wore a skirt, not a dress, and we watched a romantic movie on Netflix instead of the latest drama.

But such details were minor.

What was notably different was Elli's usual habit of having snacks nearby, which was absent today.

She arranged the surroundings and snuggled into my embrace, her head tilted to expose her ear, not even wearing her usual small earrings.

It was clear what Elli wanted.

'She wants a peck like last time, doesn't she?'

Elli's extra cuteness today was almost too much to handle.

Even if she had asked directly, I would have happily obliged, but she chose to hint at it, making me recall those moments.

"Pfft…"

"What's so funny?"

"Nothing, the movie just got to a funny part."

"Hmph."

I couldn't help but let out a laugh, despite trying to contain it.

Elli's slightly annoyed response seemed to say, 'Why aren't you doing it already?'

With that, I took a deep breath, laughing, and hugged Elli a bit tighter, signaling my intentions.

"……."

Sensing what was about to happen, Elli didn't say anything further, her hand stopping its motion and resting gently.

And so, I leaned in.

"Chu…"

"Ah…"

With joy, I pressed my lips to hers, embracing this delightful moment.
